Lee Min-jung & Son Tae-young Reveal Health Struggles After Second Childbirth: “Severe Anemia, Vision Loss”

Childbirth is often celebrated as a miracle, but it can also come with significant sacrifices for mothers — a reality recently highlighted by actresses Lee Min-jung and Son Tae-young, who opened up about their health struggles following the birth of their second children.
Lee Min-jung Story
On April 16, Lee Min-jung appeared on her YouTube channel “MJ” in a video titled “The Return of BH’s Professional Sniper. Lee Min-jung Joins YouTube to Leave Comments,” where she candidly discussed the aftereffects of childbirth.
Speaking about her daughter, Lee Min-jung shared, “When my daughter was first born, she was so swollen I barely recognized her. Thankfully, as her features have settled, she’s developed double eyelids and looks adorable.”

However, Lee Min-jung also revealed a hidden struggle: “I’m grateful people say I look the same as before, but in reality, I’ve lost part of my vision. Giving birth is no easy feat. Everyone should treat their mothers with more love and respect.”
Lee Min-jung married actor Lee Byung-hun in August 2013 and gave birth to their first son, Joon-hoo, in 2015. After eight years, in 2023, she welcomed their second child, a daughter named Seo-yi.
Son Tae-young Same Fate
Son Tae-young shared similar concerns in her latest YouTube vlog “Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae-young,” uploaded on April 26, titled “A Date with Kwon Sang-woo in New York: Omakase and Open Runs.”
During the video, Son Tae-young reflected on healthy living, “At first, establishing healthy habits is hard, but once you build a routine, it becomes easier. It’s the start that’s tough. Honestly, I lack willpower too.”

She continued by revealing that doctors had warned her about a vitamin D deficiency, advising her to get more sunlight. “After giving birth to Ri-ho, my anemia worsened significantly,” she admitted, voicing concerns about her health as she ages.
The heartfelt confessions from both actresses have touched many fans, drawing attention to the often unseen physical toll motherhood takes — even for celebrities who seem flawless on the surface.
